Transportation for Seniors
The Sunshine Center has joined forces with South Central Transit (SCT) to provide low cost, safe transportation services to registered persons 60 years of age and older. These services are available to Mt Vernon area Seniors who want to attend the Sunshine Center lunch program or participate in other scheduled activities and programs sponsored by the Sunshine Center. In addition, Seniors may use the system to conduct banking business, go shopping, visit the doctor or pharmacy, or attend other
community services or events.

The Senior transportation program receives partial funding from government grants, however donations are essential for the continuation of the program. Service will not be denied to any Senior because of the inability to donate.

Arrangements for Senior transportation in the Mt Vernon area can be made by calling South Central Transit at (800) 660-7433 or (618) 242-0202.  Be sure and call at least 24 hours in advance. (Transportation for emergency medical visits can be provided without advanced notice.) Visit the South Central Transit web site for more information. www.southcentraltransit.org
